The “Trade Union Support Organisation of the DGB Trade Unions” (GUV/FAKULTA) is not an insurance company in the traditional sense.
It is an organisation run by the trade unions within the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and is designed to support trade union members in specific professional situations.
GUV/FAKULTA offers its members protection against:
- Risks during work
- Accidents on the way to work
- Journeys to trade union events
In this way, it supplements the protection that trade union members already enjoy through their membership – without having to take out a standard insurance policy.
The GUV/FAKULTA contribution is just 24 euros a year. The cover applies to all professional activities.
