Restrictions on the benefits of travel insurance

The Mastercard Gold includes travel insurance. However, there are important restrictions you should be aware of.

Age limits for travel insurance

Insurance cover for cardholders automatically ends at the age of 75 (source: page 3 of the travel insurance terms and conditions).
Even if you pay for your trip with the Mastercard Gold, you will not be entitled to insurance benefits if you are over 75.
Fellow travellers who are younger and whose travel costs were also paid for with the Mastercard are insured.

Maximum trip duration depending on age

For cardholders, co-insured family members or fellow travellers who are over 70 years of age at the start of the trip, a maximum trip duration of 21 days applies (instead of 90 days).
